Margaux

Margaux  - one of the most famous appellation of the wine world. The only appellation in the Médoc, which has on its territory vineyards all five classé. Thanks to its granite-like soils low in clay and quartz gravel sites containing limestone gives the world a great medium to full bodied wine with an extraordinary aroma, fine structure and silky tanning aftertaste.

Overall, this appellation is 1340 ha of vineyards categories   AOC, of which 854 ha represents cru classé  (among them well-known chateaux such as  Chateau Margaux, Cateau Palmer  - ed. These and other  grand cru classé appellation Margaux  have available). 

Characteristic of Margaux wine grape varieties are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, appearing here and Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere partly
