Alibernet 2019, DSC, quality varietal wine, dry, 0.75 l

A beautiful and powerful wine was born from the Alibernet variety, which combines aromas of cranberries and sour cherries with a touch of poppy and oak wood. The wine was macerated at a low temperature to release more aromatic substances and matured in oak barrels of different volumes. The taste is robust, dominated by dark forest fruits and a soft smoky touch, complemented by attractive notes of dark chocolate.

ELESKO Alibernet 2019, DSC, quality varietal wine, dry, 0.75 l

Alibernet is a grape variety that creates exceptional wines, and this 2019 vintage is no exception.

The grapes were harvested on October 24, 2019 at a sugar content of 23.5 °NM, which indicates the optimal ripeness of the berries and the prerequisite for creating a high- quality wine . During the production process, great attention was paid to the maceration of the berries, which took place at a low temperature for 5 days. This procedure released essential aromatic substances from the grapes, which subsequently enriched the character of the wine.

After fermentation, the wine was left to rest on grape skins for 21 days. Interestingly, part of the wine matured in 225 liter oak Adour barrels for up to 9 months, while the rest of the wine was aged for up to 12 months in large 5,000 liter Garbellotto oak barrels. This combination exposed the wine to different oak notes and added complexity.

The combination of both shares resulted in a beautiful powerful wine with a rich palette of aromas - from cranberries and sour cherries to poppy. These attractive aromas are subsequently supported by the taste of forest fruits, while pronounced tannin gives the wine depth and complexity . The note of oak wood in the taste is an integral part of the overall impression.

In appearance, the wine is opaque with a ruby-red color and significant viscosity. The aroma is dominated by a trace of dark forest fruits, blackberry and black poppy, complemented by a subtle hint of smoke from the oak barrel. The taste is full and robust with nicely integrated tannin. The aftertaste is long and interesting with notes of blackberry jam and dark chocolate.

The origin of the wine is in the Malokarpatska viticultural region, specifically in the Modransk district and the village of Vištuk. The vineyard called Zoya was planted between 2005-2009 on soil characterized by brown soil with an admixture of gravel and sand, which may be another factor contributing to the unique taste and character of this wine.

In conclusion, it is important to mention that the alcohol content is 13.50% vol. and the wine is closed with a traditional cork in a bordeaux bottle.

We recommend serving:

For those who want to fully enjoy this wine, we recommend combining it with grilled deer loin on rosehip sauce or beef flank steak with a warm salad. When serving, it is ideal to keep the temperature between 15-17 °C, and for the maximum experience we recommend decanting the wine.

Wine characteristics:

  • Alcohol: 13.5%
  • Acid content: g/l
  • Sugar content: dry
  • Origin of grapes: Small Carpathian wine-growing region, Vištuk
